Welcome to Friday Night SVM Hockey.
We are a pick-up league that was founded in the 1990\'s by Paul Lunn. Initially it was comprise by faculty and students of the Veterinary School. Over the years with friends and family, we have quite a diverse group.
Our league is for players of a variety of skill sets from beginners to experienced players. Our only rules are that: 1. No slap shots, ever. 2. The puck never is above the thigh, ever. and 3. If you run someone over, you will take yourself off the ice. We are here to have fun.
Ice time is $10 per night payable in cash or check to Friday Night Hockey. There are 14 games in the Fall. If you would like to pay for the entire fall season, the cost is $115 ($8.20 per game) due by October 1st, 2009.
We have a league sign up here on www.hockeyfinder.com to do our best at providing plenty of ice time for all people who sign up to play. New players and visitors are welcome, just email us at least 24 hours prior to game day.
All you need to play are skates and a helmet. We can find you a stick to borrow. Team colors are red and white. If you do not have a red or white jersey, one will be provided to you. We highly recommend shinguards as minimum extra protective gear. You can rent everything, including skates and helmet at the Shell.
Perhaps the most important tidbit of information is that we meet after every game at the Big10 Pub on Regent Street for a beer.
