There will be a minimum of 4 games scheduled for each team.  

Friday games may begin as early as noon. 

Midget U16 and H.S.J.V. teams: May be scheduled in the same divisions.  Ice resurface after 2 periods of play.  You may start on clean ice and play 2 periods and go off for a resurface then play the last period.  You may go on dirty ice for warm up and 1 period and go off for a resurface then play the last two periods.  

Midget U18 and H.S.V. teams: May be scheduled in the same divisions.   Ice resurface after 2 periods of play.  You may start on clean ice and play 2 periods and go off for a resurface then play the last period.  You may go on dirty ice for warm up and 1 period and go off for a resurface then play the last two periods.  

All hotel rooms for all participants must be booked through our hotel process. This is a stay to play event for all teams whose home rink is 70 miles or further away from the designated main rink of the tournament. Any teams within the 70-mile limit that are planning to get hotels must also go through our hotel booking process. Failure to comply could result in forfeiture of games or disqualification.    

Once you submit your application, you will have access to a complete list of hotel options. You then will be able to enter up to five hotel choices and a list of people that require accommodation.  

Occasionally, we provide information to purchase tickets to either a professional or college hockey game over a tournament weekend. If you are considering this option, you will need to send us an email to scheduler@bigbeartournaments.com and get this approved in writing before proceeding.  If you buy tickets without going through this process, you may have to choose between your tournament game and your outside entertainment.  

Please be aware that if your team is traveling by plane, motor coach, or any method requiring payment and/or reservations, we recommend booking with companies that allow for cancelations, refunds, or transferring to a later date without penalty.  

Please note: As a condition of acceptance to our tournaments, all out-of-town teams must stay at an authorized Big Bear hotel .

4v4 Mites Holiday Classic 

Date: December 17th & 18th in Westfield, IN Entry Fee: $849 Per Team Discounts : $50 Multi-team & $50 Early Bird paid in full by  Nov 24th  General Tournament Rules 
  • Each team will play in a Round Robin on Saturday. Based on Saturdays Performance #1 will get a Semi final Bye. #2 vs #3 will play in the Semi. #4 and #5 will play a Consolation game.   

  • Bracket play: Games ending in a tie will be decided by a 3-skater shootout. Extended through the remaining players in sudden death if still tied. 

  • Round Robin Tie breaker: 1) Head to head 2) Goal differential 3) Most goals scored 4) Coin Flip

  • Tournament will have TWO division (A) (B) 

  • (3) 12-Minute running clock periods with one-minute intermission between periods & 3 -Minute warm-up prior to each game. 

  • Center ice face-off at the start of every period.

  • Buzzer every 2:00 for shift change

  • After a goal or Icing the team that scored must skate back to the blue line until the puck crosses goal and the team. The team that was scored on must cross the blue line with the puck within 10 seconds. When play is stopped due to the goalie controlling the puck (Icing), a whistle will signal the attacking players to vacate the zone to the blue line.

  • USA Hockey roster rules will be followed. All players must be registered in their USA Hockey affiliate as Mites. 

  • Each team must be ready to start 15 minutes prior to the scheduled game. 

  • When possible, the teams should bring a light and dark jersey.

  • There are no icing or off-sides rules. 

  • Penalties assessed by the referee will result in the offending player sitting out the remainder of their shift.

  • Clock will stop at the referee's discretion & No timeouts are permitted.

  • Up to (3) three coaches, assistants or trainers may be on the benches. All bench personnel must have rostered with the players and have proper certification.

  •  Locker rooms are to be monitored by each team based on SafeSport/USA hockey guidelines.

  • Any bench personnel having been ejected from a game, for any reason, will be automatically expelled for the remainder of the tournament. 

  • ABSOLUTELY NO INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR, CONDUCT OR LANGUAGE WILL NOT BE TOLERATED! This will result in an ejection from the tournament. 

  • Banging on the glass is strictly prohibited and may result in removal from the rink at the discretion of facility personnel

There will be a minimum of 4 games scheduled for each team.  

Friday games may begin as early as noon. 

Midget U16 and H.S.J.V. teams: May be scheduled in the same divisions.  Ice resurface after 2 periods of play.  You may start on clean ice and play 2 periods and go off for a resurface then play the last period.  You may go on dirty ice for warm up and 1 period and go off for a resurface then play the last two periods.  

Midget U18 and H.S.V. teams: May be scheduled in the same divisions.   Ice resurface after 2 periods of play.  You may start on clean ice and play 2 periods and go off for a resurface then play the last period.  You may go on dirty ice for warm up and 1 period and go off for a resurface then play the last two periods.  

All hotel rooms for all participants must be booked through our hotel process. This is a stay to play event for all teams whose home rink is 70 miles or further away from the designated main rink of the tournament. Any teams within the 70-mile limit that are planning to get hotels must also go through our hotel booking process. Failure to comply could result in forfeiture of games or disqualification.    

Once you submit your application, you will have access to a complete list of hotel options. You then will be able to enter up to five hotel choices and a list of people that require accommodation.  

Occasionally, we provide information to purchase tickets to either a professional or college hockey game over a tournament weekend. If you are considering this option, you will need to send us an email to scheduler@bigbeartournaments.com and get this approved in writing before proceeding.  If you buy tickets without going through this process, you may have to choose between your tournament game and your outside entertainment.  

Please be aware that if your team is traveling by plane, motor coach, or any method requiring payment and/or reservations, we recommend booking with companies that allow for cancelations, refunds, or transferring to a later date without penalty.  

Please note: As a condition of acceptance to our tournaments, all out-of-town teams must stay at an authorized Big Bear hotel .

Welcome to the Winter Classic!

Calling all B and C level (Tier 3 & Tier 4) teams. I am accepting teams for this year’s 15th Annual Winter Classic tournament on December 29 - 31, 2023. This tournament sells out every year so register your team early, so you are not left out. The tournament will be open to teams at the Mite, Squirt, Peewee and Bantam divisions. We are currently sending out applications all over the US and Canada.  Acceptance will be on a first come first serve basis.  Please do not hesitate, as this tournament will fill up fast.

GAMES:
All teams are guaranteed three games.  All divisions will include a championship game. The length of periods will be 3—12 minute periods.

SCHEDULING:
All teams are instructed to visit the tournament website for schedules. Schedules will be posted about 10 days before the start of the tournament on the website. Every reasonable attempt will be made to accommodate scheduling requests if requests are made when registering your team.

AWARDS:
Individual trophies will be awarded to championship and runner up teams at all levels. MVP award at each level in the championship game. Team awards for championship and Runner-up organizations. 

TOURNAMENT FEE:
Tournament fee is $1100 per team. 

All tournaments are based in Hooksett, NH or close by with the main host rink being Tri-Town Ice Arena. Home of the NH Jr. Monarchs. The rink has 2 full size 200’x85’ ice surfaces. A Restaurant on site with a liquor license. While dining, enjoying a beverage or just relaxing you may watch a movie, enjoy a sporting event, or enjoy a show on one of our large screen TV’s. Our game room is always available for children or adults to enjoy as well. Tournament monies are non-refundable. All traveling teams are required to stay at one of the sponsor Hotels listed on the website under the HOTELS link. To reserve your Hotel rooms at discounted prices please contact the Hotel of your choice from the website and make sure you mention the tournament to get the discounted rate. All the Hotels are near the host rink. Your team chooses which Hotel they wish to stay at and contact the Hotel contact person listed to secure your rooms. We ask all teams to respect the Hotels as if they were your own homes. Any damages can and will be billed to the individuals.

This year's event will be held at the completely renovated Hyde Park Ice Pavilion (see photo section) in Niagara Falls, NY and usually sell out by mid November. Over the last few seasons, the rink has been completely overhauled. Both rink have new locker rooms, ices surfaces, scoreboard, benches and stands, plus the Stoneroom bar and restaurant is a great addition to the rinks. With 48 teams in attendance, last year’s event delivered plenty of memories and excitement for all who attended. Five of our Championship games were decided by one goal or less, with the average goal differential for the entire tournament was 2.15

Brandon, Mb Tournament of Champions 2024

The Tournament of Champions Committee will be hosting their 53rd Annual Hockey tournament in February of 2024 in Brandon, Manitoba.  The tournament’s goal is to provide a competitive tournament for Rep teams only.
 
Situated in the southwest corner of the Province of Manitoba, with a population of just over 48,000 people.  We are a 2 hour drive from Winnipeg's James Armstrong Richardson's International airport and home to Brandon 's Municipal Airport where WestJet flies out of.  We have a couple of great bus lines in Brandon, Compass Coach and Brandon Bus Lines,

Brandon is home to 5 indoor arena's and is also home to the WHL's Brandon Wheat Kings.  We will do our best to accomodate teams in order for them to attend a WHL game while in town.

We are fortunate to have a complex that has 3 ice surfaces under one roof.  The Keystone Centre is home to 3 NHL sized ice surfaces, an indoor turf and sport court flooring.  Our main arena, 5,101 seat Westoba Place, is home to the Brandon Wheat Kings of the Western Hockey League and serves not only as an ice rink, but can be converted to host concerts, and agricultural exhibitions. 

The Keystone Centre is also home to the Enns Brothers Arena and Kinsmen Arena. Their unique parallel design allows them to share a concessionaire.  Each arena has 5 dressing rooms, including a referee's room, brand new portable bleachers (900 capacity), electronic score clocks and in-arena sound system.  

The other facilty we use is the City of Brandon's, Sportsplex which has an Arena, Olympic sized swimming pool and 3 Racquetball courts and is located in the North End of our city.

Players of the Game -   Players line up on their blue line at the conclusion of the game for awards.   Coaches will pick their own team's player of the game and inform the timekeeper.

Dressing Room – The team manager and/or coach are responsible for the condition of the dressing room.  Please keep them clean.  Dressing Room locks are not provided at the Keystone Centre.  Locks will be available to sign out at the TOC office (Salon A)  with a deposit, or you can bring your own.

GENERAL RULES:
  1. Players that accumulate four minor penalties in one game will receive a game ejection for that game only.(Double minor is one penalty)
  2. After Ice Clean – Only players on the starting lineup are permitted on the ice
  3. After the tournament has started there will be no team requests to change ice times or rinks.
  4. Gross Misc. & Match Penalties – Players or coach will be suspended for the remainder of the Tournament
  5. Team Official Conduct - Should the tournament committee feel that any member of the coaching staff or team management has treated players, on-ice and minor officials with disrespect at any time, a suspension may be put forth.  The tournament committee reserves the right to terminate any game progressing in an unruly manner and appoint a winner.  If any team official is ejected from the game, he or she will be suspended for an additional two games.  
MERCY RULE – The mercy rule will apply when there is a six goal difference after the second period.  If the lead is decreased to a five goal difference the clock will then stop after each whistle.  Minor penalties will be two minutes.  Run time as well.

JERSEYS – Each team is to carry two sets of jerseys to all games.  If your team only has one set you must notify the tournament in advance.
HOME - White & AWAY - Dark

OVERTIME– For all games (including round robin) if the score is tied there will be a five minute stop time sudden victory period (three on three).  If still tied there will be a three player shootout format.  If still tied it will be a one player shootout until a winner is declared.  All players from a team must shoot before a player may shoot for a second time.  Home team will have the choice to shoot first or last. 

TOURNAMENT FORMAT – U11/U13/U15-   Games will consist of three - 17 minute periods.  All stop time. 

TIE BREAKER RULES
  1. The result of the round robin game involving the tied teams if two teams are tied. If three teams are tied, the team which has a 2-0 record against the tied team will advance.  After one team advances, the tie breaker process begins again.
  2. If teams are still tied after #1, then the team with the most wins would qualify.
  3. If teams are still tied after #1 & #2 then the team with the best goal average would qualify.  The goal average of a team is determined by dividing the total number of goals for and against into the total number of goals for.  The team having the highest percentage winning the higher position.
  4. Coin toss
FORFEIT RULE – The game will score 3-0.

TIME-OUT – One 30 second timeout per game including overtime.

The Tournament of Champions Committee will be hosting their 53rd Annual Hockey tournament in February of 2024 in Brandon, Manitoba.  The tournament’s goal is to provide a competitive tournament for Rep teams only.
 
Situated in the southwest corner of the Province of Manitoba, with a population of just over 48,000 people.  We are a 2 hour drive from Winnipeg's James Armstrong Richardson's International airport and home to Brandon 's Municipal Airport where WestJet flies out of.  We have a couple of great bus lines in Brandon, Compass Coach and Brandon Bus Lines,

Brandon is home to 5 indoor arena's and is also home to the WHL's Brandon Wheat Kings.  We will do our best to accomodate teams in order for them to attend a WHL game while in town.

We are fortunate to have a complex that has 3 ice surfaces under one roof.  The Keystone Centre is home to 3 NHL sized ice surfaces, an indoor turf and sport court flooring.  Our main arena, 5,101 seat Westoba Place, is home to the Brandon Wheat Kings of the Western Hockey League and serves not only as an ice rink, but can be converted to host concerts, and agricultural exhibitions. 

The Keystone Centre is also home to the Enns Brothers Arena and Kinsmen Arena. Their unique parallel design allows them to share a concessionaire.  Each arena has 5 dressing rooms, including a referee's room, brand new portable bleachers (900 capacity), electronic score clocks and in-arena sound system.  

The other facilty we use is the City of Brandon's, Sportsplex which has an Arena, Olympic sized swimming pool and 3 Racquetball courts and is located in the North End of our city.

Cathedral Preparatory School and Lake Effect Hockey are looking to attract 8 – 10 high level high school hockey teams with an outstanding tradition of competing and excelling at the highest levels.  This event will consist of a 4 or 5 game round robin format, with a 5th (or 6th) and final championship game on Sunday. Prospective teams already include powerhouse programs from: MI, IL, IN, MD, PA, NJ, and OH.

Sand Valley and Visit Rome are thrilled to present the third annual Sand County Classic pond hockey tournament this winter.

The tournament is open to all and will take place on one of three frozen lakes at Sand Valley, a four-season destination in Central Wisconsin. Players will skate in a natural amphitheater of snow-covered dunes and towering red pines, creating an unforgettable experience.

Arena: Keystone Centre

The Tournament of Champions Committee will be hosting their 53rd Annual Hockey tournament in February of 2024 in Brandon, Manitoba.  The tournament’s goal is to provide a competitive tournament for Rep teams only.
 
Situated in the southwest corner of the Province of Manitoba, with a population of just over 48,000 people.  We are a 2 hour drive from Winnipeg's James Armstrong Richardson's International airport and home to Brandon 's Municipal Airport where WestJet flies out of.  We have a couple of great bus lines in Brandon, Compass Coach and Brandon Bus Lines,

Brandon is home to 5 indoor arena's and is also home to the WHL's Brandon Wheat Kings.  We will do our best to accomodate teams in order for them to attend a WHL game while in town.

We are fortunate to have a complex that has 3 ice surfaces under one roof.  The Keystone Centre is home to 3 NHL sized ice surfaces, an indoor turf and sport court flooring.  Our main arena, 5,101 seat Westoba Place, is home to the Brandon Wheat Kings of the Western Hockey League and serves not only as an ice rink, but can be converted to host concerts, and agricultural exhibitions. 

The Keystone Centre is also home to the Enns Brothers Arena and Flynn Arena. Their unique parallel design allows them to share a concessionaire.  Each arena has 5 dressing rooms, including a referee's room, brand new portable bleachers (900 capacity), electronic score clocks and in-arena sound system.  

The other facilty we use is the City of Brandon's, Sportsplex which has an Arena, Olympic sized swimming pool and 3 Racquetball courts and is located in the North End of our city.

New to Brandon is the J&G Arena, which boasts a NHL sized ice surface, performance centre, mini ice surfaces, pro shop and restaurant.

The Tournament of Champions has several sponsoring hotels which are all in close proximity to all arena venues.  The committee will be responsible for allotting teams into the hotels.

We will provide a competitive environment with staff on-site at all our hockey venues. 

  • A Round Robin Format will be employed in all divisions for preliminary round play.
  • All games will consist of 3 - 17 minutes.  All stop time.
  • Each team will be guaranteed 4 games
  • Player of the game awards
  • Free Admission to all Tournament Games

Game Sheets and Rosters - Must be verified by the team manager before the first game.

Teams:   Whenever possible teams should be ready 10 minutes prior to game start.

Warmup – Each team will be given a four minute warmup.  If late coming on the ice your time will be reduced.

Flood – The ice will be cleaned after every two periods. 

Players of the Game -   Players line up on their blue line at the conclusion of the game for awards.   Coaches will pick their own team's player of the game and inform the timekeeper.

Dressing Room – The team manager and/or coach are responsible for the condition of the dressing room.  Please keep them clean.  Dressing Room locks are not provided at the Keystone Centre.  Locks will be available to sign out at the TOC office (Salon A)  with a deposit, or you can bring your own.

GENERAL RULES:

  1. Players that accumulate four minor penalties in one game will receive a game ejection for that game only.(Double minor is one penalty)
  2. After Ice Clean – Only players on the starting lineup are permitted on the ice
  3. After the tournament has started there will be no team requests to change ice times or rinks.
  4. Gross Misc. & Match Penalties – Players or coach will be suspended for the remainder of the Tournament
  5. Team Official Conduct - Should the tournament committee feel that any member of the coaching staff or team management has treated players, on-ice and minor officials with disrespect at any time, a suspension may be put forth.  The tournament committee reserves the right to terminate any game progressing in an unruly manner and appoint a winner.  If any team official is ejected from the game, he or she will be suspended for an additional two games.  

MERCY RULE – The mercy rule will apply when there is a six goal difference after the second period.  If the lead is decreased to a five goal difference the clock will then stop after each whistle.  Minor penalties will be two minutes.  Run time as well.

JERSEYS – Each team is to carry two sets of jerseys to all games.  If your team only has one set you must notify the tournament in advance.
HOME - White & AWAY - Dark

OVERTIME– For all games (including round robin) if the score is tied there will be a five minute stop time sudden victory period (three on three).  If still tied there will be a three player shootout format.  If still tied it will be a one player shootout until a winner is declared.  All players from a team must shoot before a player may shoot for a second time.  Home team will have the choice to shoot first or last. 

TOURNAMENT FORMAT – U11/U13/U15-   Games will consist of three - 17 minute periods.  All stop time. 

TIE BREAKER RULES

  1. The result of the round robin game involving the tied teams if two teams are tied. If three teams are tied, the team which has a 2-0 record against the tied team will advance.  After one team advances, the tie breaker process begins again.
  2. If teams are still tied after #1, then the team with the most wins would qualify.
  3. If teams are still tied after #1 & #2 then the team with the best goal average would qualify.  The goal average of a team is determined by dividing the total number of goals for and against into the total number of goals for.  The team having the highest percentage winning the higher position.
  4. Coin toss

FORFEIT RULE – The game will score 3-0.

TIME-OUT – One 30 second timeout per game including overtime.

Occasionally, we provide information to purchase tickets to either a professional or college hockey game over a tournament weekend. If you are considering this option, you will need to send us an email to scheduler@bigbeartournaments.com and get this approved in writing before proceeding.  If you buy tickets without going through this process, you may have to choose between your tournament game and your outside entertainment.  

Please be aware that if your team is traveling by plane, motor coach, or any method requiring payment and/or reservations, we recommend booking with companies that allow for cancelations, refunds, or transferring to a later date without penalty.

This is not your typically tournament but a new way to play and experience hockey like it use to be! All games are played 5v5 for the youth level, all night games have proper lightning. All rinks are typical 200x85 size however we play without boards and play with snow piles (which also reduce potential injury)

President's Day

Welcome to President's Day Tournament by Ice Hockey Tournaments!

This year’s President’s day tournament will be held February 16-19, 2024. It is the 16th annual year for the tournament. Last year’s tournament sold out so register your team early, so you are not left out. The tournament will be open to AA/AAA (Tier 1) teams at the 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009, divisions. We are currently sending out applications all over the US and Canada.  Acceptance will be on a first come first serve basis.  Please do not hesitate, as this tournament will fill up fast. 

GAMES:
All teams are guaranteed four games.  All divisions will include a championship game. The length of periods will be 3—12 minute periods.

SCHEDULING:
All teams are instructed to visit the tournament website for schedules. Schedules will be posted about 10 days before the start of the tournament on the website. Every reasonable attempt will be made to accommodate scheduling requests if requests are made when registering your team.

AWARDS:
Individual trophies will be awarded to championship and runner up teams at all levels. MVP award at each level in the championship game. Team awards for championship and Runner-up organizations. 

TOURNAMENT FEE:
Tournament fee is $1500 per team. 

All tournaments are based in Hooksett, NH or close by with the main host rink being Tri-Town Ice Arena. Home of the NH Jr. Monarchs. The rink has 2 full size 200’x85’ ice surfaces. A Restaurant on site with a liquor license. While dining, enjoying a beverage or just relaxing you may watch a movie, enjoy a sporting event, or enjoy a show on one of our large screen TV’s. Our game room is always available for children or adults to enjoy as well. Tournament monies are non-refundable. All traveling teams are required to stay at one of the sponsor Hotels listed on the website under the HOTELS link. To reserve your Hotel rooms at discounted prices please contact the Hotel of your choice from the website and make sure you mention the tournament to get the discounted rate. All the Hotels are near the host rink. Your team chooses which Hotel they wish to stay at and contact the Hotel contact person listed to secure your rooms. We ask all teams to respect the Hotels as if they were your own homes. Any damages can and will be billed to the individuals.

There will be a minimum of 4 games scheduled for each team.  

Friday games may begin as early as noon. 

Midget U16 and H.S.J.V. teams: May be scheduled in the same divisions.  Ice resurface after 2 periods of play.  You may start on clean ice and play 2 periods and go off for a resurface then play the last period.  You may go on dirty ice for warm up and 1 period and go off for a resurface then play the last two periods.  

Midget U18 and H.S.V. teams: May be scheduled in the same divisions.   Ice resurface after 2 periods of play.  You may start on clean ice and play 2 periods and go off for a resurface then play the last period.  You may go on dirty ice for warm up and 1 period and go off for a resurface then play the last two periods.  

All hotel rooms for all participants must be booked through our hotel process. This is a stay to play event for all teams whose home rink is 70 miles or further away from the designated main rink of the tournament. Any teams within the 70-mile limit that are planning to get hotels must also go through our hotel booking process. Failure to comply could result in forfeiture of games or disqualification.    

Once you submit your application, you will have access to a complete list of hotel options. You then will be able to enter up to five hotel choices and a list of people that require accommodation.  

Occasionally, we provide information to purchase tickets to either a professional or college hockey game over a tournament weekend. If you are considering this option, you will need to send us an email to scheduler@bigbeartournaments.com and get this approved in writing before proceeding.  If you buy tickets without going through this process, you may have to choose between your tournament game and your outside entertainment.

Levels: B, A2, A, AA


Arena: Kentwood Ice Arena

There will be a minimum of 4 games scheduled for each team.  

Friday games may begin as early as noon. 

Midget U16 and H.S.J.V. teams: May be scheduled in the same divisions.  Ice resurface after 2 periods of play.  You may start on clean ice and play 2 periods and go off for a resurface then play the last period.  You may go on dirty ice for warm up and 1 period and go off for a resurface then play the last two periods.  

Midget U18 and H.S.V. teams: May be scheduled in the same divisions.   Ice resurface after 2 periods of play.  You may start on clean ice and play 2 periods and go off for a resurface then play the last period.  You may go on dirty ice for warm up and 1 period and go off for a resurface then play the last two periods.  

All hotel rooms for all participants must be booked through our hotel process. This is a stay to play event for all teams whose home rink is 70 miles or further away from the designated main rink of the tournament. Any teams within the 70-mile limit that are planning to get hotels must also go through our hotel booking process. Failure to comply could result in forfeiture of games or disqualification.    

Once you submit your application, you will have access to a complete list of hotel options. You then will be able to enter up to five hotel choices and a list of people that require accommodation.  

Occasionally, we provide information to purchase tickets to either a professional or college hockey game over a tournament weekend. If you are considering this option, you will need to send us an email to scheduler@bigbeartournaments.com and get this approved in writing before proceeding.  If you buy tickets without going through this process, you may have to choose between your tournament game and your outside entertainment.
