The Spring Championships played host to 118 teams from all over the world, and will host 150 teams this year. Teams range from starting their Spring Hockey season to ending their Fall/Winter season.

This inspirational group’s kindness has been transformative: They have raised over $640,000 to date to fund a new consolidated entrance named Westchester Warriors Way that leads to our cancer, blood-disorder and bone-marrow transplant center for young oncology patients.

Unfortunately, the fight against pediatric cancer continues, and we need your help now more than ever. Your donation today will be earmarked for the Cellular and Tissue Engineering Laboratory (CTEL) within the Children and Adolescent Cancer and Blood Disease Center at Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital.
 
Under the leadership of Mitchell S. Cairo, MD, Chief, Pediatric Hematology, Oncology, and Stem Cell Transplantation at Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital, CTEL creates and provides patient-specific therapies for our pediatric oncology patients.

There will be a minimum of 4 games scheduled for each team.  

Friday games may begin as early as noon. 

Midget U16 and H.S.J.V. teams: May be scheduled in the same divisions.  Ice resurface after 2 periods of play.  You may start on clean ice and play 2 periods and go off for a resurface then play the last period.  You may go on dirty ice for warm up and 1 period and go off for a resurface then play the last two periods.  

Midget U18 and H.S.V. teams: May be scheduled in the same divisions.   Ice resurface after 2 periods of play.  You may start on clean ice and play 2 periods and go off for a resurface then play the last period.  You may go on dirty ice for warm up and 1 period and go off for a resurface then play the last two periods.  

All hotel rooms for all participants must be booked through our hotel process. This is a stay to play event for all teams whose home rink is 70 miles or further away from the designated main rink of the tournament. Any teams within the 70-mile limit that are planning to get hotels must also go through our hotel booking process. Failure to comply could result in forfeiture of games or disqualification.    

Once you submit your application, you will have access to a complete list of hotel options. You then will be able to enter up to five hotel choices and a list of people that require accommodation.  

Occasionally, we provide information to purchase tickets to either a professional or college hockey game over a tournament weekend. If you are considering this option, you will need to send us an email to scheduler@bigbeartournaments.com and get this approved in writing before proceeding.  If you buy tickets without going through this process, you may have to choose between your tournament game and your outside entertainment.  

Please be aware that if your team is traveling by plane, motor coach, or any method requiring payment and/or reservations, we recommend booking with companies that allow for cancelations, refunds, or transferring to a later date without penalty.  

Please note: As a condition of acceptance to our tournaments, all out-of-town teams must stay at an authorized Big Bear hotel .

• This division is made up of advanced to very skilled players. These players have HIGH SCHOOL AND ABOVE SKILL LEVEL.

• C- This division consists of intermediate level players who may have experience playing up to the high school level. Some players may have limited organized youth playing experience but have several years of experience as a recreational adult player.

The FAMOUS Lobsterfest played host to 350 teams last year from all over the world (including: Canada, Switzerland, and Sweden) and will play host to 450 teams over the course of 3 weekends this year!

The event is being hosted at Hatfield Ice World (Colmar, PA) and Oaks Center Ice (Oaks, PA) over the May 31 – June 2, 2024 weekend, avoiding any of your potential Memorial Day Weekend plans.

• Co-ed, adults 18 and older
• Individual based sign up only, no team team registrations (Teams are randomly created based on player skill levels - Players can request to play with a friend so long as they end up in the same division. While not likely, we reserve the right deny requests if it affects the balancing of teams.)
• Brackets- 4 teams per skill bracket - Number of brackets/skill level ranges determined by demand. Our goal is to have three divisions of 4 teams but can accommodate more if the demand is there. The more the merrier :)

The FAMOUS Lobsterfest will, once again, be hosted at 10 different rinks around the state of Rhode Island including Providence College's Schneider Arena, home to the NCAA D1 Men's & Women's Hockey Programs. 

Lobsterfest will also be hosted at: Thayer Arena (Warwick), West Warwick Civic Center, Boss Arena @ URI (Kingston), New England Sports Village (Attleboro), RI Sports Center (North Smithfield), Lynch Arena (Pawtucket), Mount Saint Charles' Adelard Arena (Woonsocket), & Smithfield Municipal Ice Rink.

The FAMOUS Lobsterfest played host to 350 teams last year from all over the world (including: Canada, Switzerland, and Sweden) and will play host to 450 teams over the course of 3 weekends this year! 

Lobsterfest is always hosted 3 weekends. Pick which weekend works best for you or attend multiple weekends, like some teams do! Each weekend is a separate tournament.

Welcome to the Summer Sizzler!

Welcome to the 6th Annual Summer Sizzler tournament on July 19 - 21, 2024. Last year’s tournament sold out so register your team early, so you are not left out. The tournament will be open to AA/AAA (Tier 1) teams at the 2015, 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011 and 2010 divisions. We are currently sending out applications all over the US and Canada.  Acceptance will be on a first come first serve basis.  Please do not hesitate, as this tournament will fill up fast. 

GAMES:
All teams are guaranteed four games.  All divisions will include a championship game. The length of periods will be 3—15 minute periods.

SCHEDULING:
All teams are instructed to visit the tournament website for schedules. Schedules will be posted about 10 days before the start of the tournament on the website. Every reasonable attempt will be made to accommodate scheduling requests if requests are made when registering your team.

AWARDS:
Individual trophies will be awarded to championship and runner up teams at all levels. MVP award at each level in the championship game. Team awards for championship and Runner-up organizations.

All teams are instructed to visit the tournament website for schedules. Schedules will be posted about 10 days before the start of the tournament on the website. Every reasonable attempt will be made to accommodate scheduling requests if requests are made when registering your team.

AWARDS:
Individual trophies will be awarded to championship and runner up teams at all levels. MVP award at each level in the championship game. Team awards for championship and Runner-up organizations. 

TOURNAMENT FEE:
Tournament fee is $1150 per team.
