      Sunny Yee Hockey Finder Scholarship

Honoring a Legacy of Love for the Game

The Sunny Yee Hockey Finder Scholarship Fund is named in memory of Sunny Yee, the beloved wife of co-founder Derrik Dyka. As a supportive spouse and dedicated "hockey mom" to their sons, Gavin and Griffin, Sunny's love for the hockey community ran deep. She left us in July after a courageous battle with cancer, but her legacy lives on through this scholarship.

      Who Can Apply

Open to college students of families playing in any Hockey Finder division or leagues. Applications will be accepted at pre-determined times throughout the year. Applications open May 1, 2024. Apply through the Erickson Merkel Foundation at www.ericksonmerkel.org/scholarships.

      Trustworthy Management

The Erickson Merkel Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, manages funds. The Hockey Finder Assist Board participates in recipient selection, ensuring fairness and transparency.

      100% For Students

Not a cent of your donation stays with us. Owners and employees aren't involved in fund disbursement and can't apply for the scholarship.

      First Four Recipients

The first four recipients in 2023 have collectively received $4,000 in scholarships.

      How to Contribute

Join us in giving back. Donations are tax-deductible, and 100% of contributions go directly to the scholarship fund. Visit the Erickson Merkel Foundation and enter "Hockey Finder" to make your donation.

      Special Thanks

Kudos to Eric Jungels and Dan Norgard for their essential roles in bringing this to fruition. The more we raise, the more students we can help.

Let's keep Sunny's spirit alive by supporting the next generation of college students and hockey players. Your contributions are greatly appreciated.
